Mission Call
Dear Elder Adams, You are hearby called to labor in the Mexico Mexico City West Mission. You will report to the MTC on May 23, 2012. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language! I will be dedicating two years of my life to serving the Lord, and according to him I will be doing it in Mexico City. I am so excited and can't wait to learn Spanish, the Mexican culture and to bring others to come unto Christ. This is a picture of the Mexico City Temple and I will have the opportunity to go to this temple while on my mission.

2/9/2012 Scripture of the Day
1 Nephi Chapter 3 verse 7: And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commanndeth them. This scripture is one of the most common scriptures in the LDS faith, as well as one of my favorites. Whenever I am feeling down or in need of encouragement this scripture lifts me up, if we are willing to go and do the things which are commanded of us, then the Lord will make a way. No matter how hard or how difficult the task at hand may seem, with the Lord, all things are possible.

Scripture of the Day 2/8/2012
2 Nephi Chapter 25 verse 26: And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remissions of their sins. I like this scripture because Jesus Christ is the corner stone to our religion, because of the sacrifice he made and the atonement he preformed we are all able to live with Heavenly Father once again. We are all in debt to Christ for what he has done, the least we can do to thank is to talk of him, rejoice in him, and preach of him, for without Christ we would all be lost.

Scripture of the Day
JS History Chapter 1 verse 25: So it was with me. I had actually seen a light, and in the midst of that light I saw two Personages, and they did in reality speak me; and though I was hated and persecuted for saying that I had seen a vision, yet it was true; and while they were persecuting me, reviling me, and speaking all manner of evil against me falsely for so saying, I was led to say in my heart: Why persecute me for telling the truth? who am I that I can withstand God, or why does the world think to make me deny what I have actually seen? For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, I could not deny it, neither dared I do it; at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation. This is one of my favorite scriptures because it is a strong and fervent testimony of Joseph Smith, and like Joseph Smith I have a strong testimony of the church, and I cannot deny what I know either. The testimony of Joseph Smith is a big part of which the church is founded upon, and like Joseph Smith I have a testimony that he saw God, the Eternal Father, and his Son, Jesus Christ and they did in reality speak to him. I love this church and all this is has done for me as well as the blessings I have received from being a member of the church and being familiar with its teachings. I would invite all of you to come unto Christ and read the Book of Mormon, if you never have. The teachings found in this book are truly amazing and I hope you can all come to rejoice in this gospel as I have come to rejoice in it.

Scripture of the Day
The hope of doing a "scripture-of-the-day" is to post a new scripture everyday with the intent of sharing insight for those not familar with the LDS teachings or to uplift and encourage everyone to live more like Christ and follow His teachings as found in the scriptures. These scriptures will be taken from the standard works. For those not familiar, the standard works are: the Book of Mormon, the Pearl of Great Price, the Old Testament, and the New Testament. These scriptures will be posted with a scripture reference as well as a brief insight as to why I like the particular scripture. Today's scripture can be found in D&C Section 4 verse 7: Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen. This scripture has meant a lot to me recently as I prepare for my mission. Knowing that if we ponder the scriptures or pray to our Heavenly Father, searching for an answer, it will be given unto us. Please feel free to share any comments or insight you may have about this scripture, or any future posting.
My Purpose
The purpose of this blog is to be able to share my feelings about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, also know as the LDS faith. This blog will allow me to post scriptures, insights, quotes, talks, as well as my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The blog will also serve as a form of communication while I am on my mission, I will have one of my family members update my blog while I'm away with pictures, stories, scriptures or whatever I may want to post about my mission.
